Digital Image Manipulation
We offer a variety of services to edit your digital photo's from simple touch-up's (including red eye reduction and colour and light adjustments) to much more complex activities such as photo restoration, panoramic stitching, and animated effects. We also have the facilities to scan in old 35mm and slides and convert them to the digital format of your choice.
Depending on the number of photo's you'd like us to work on, we can either set up a secure online folder where you can upload images and view them at any stage during our work, or simply send us your images on flash media, disc or any storage device.
Want to be able to view your pictures on any TV with a DVD player? Not a problem! We can export your pictures however you like, simply send the digital copies back to you, or edit them into a slideshow, or even mixed in with your holiday video clips.
Note: Please ensure any pictures you send us are of your own creation and you own the copyrights to them. We will not process any material that is not your own and the files will be returned to you and / or deleted from our system.
Web Site Creation
As with all the services we offer, our web site creation offers the ultimate in customer customisation so that we create a unique website to your specification. All we require is the text you want to be displayed on each page and any images you wish (please ensure the content is your own and that you own the copyright to all media you provide otherwise we may not publish your material.) If you have any ideas on colour schemes or the layout you would like then let us know, if not, we can create the entire website for you. Upon request we can also provide you with all source code and formatting so that you can make any alterations you like and see for yourself the steps we used to create the site.
Throughout the project time we will give you access to our secure system so you can see the current state of all the files so far and make any comments or adjustments you wish.
We can also upload your website to our own domain for an extra fee. Or, if you wish to host yourself, we can guide you through this.
A basic website of approximately five pages or less with no complex scripting or image editing could cost as little as £80, whilst prices for more complex websites featuring order forms, pages with multiple frames and multimedia (such as flash intro's or 'splash' screens) will be considerably higher. All work is conducted at a pre-agreed hourly rate and will be itemised clearly by working day on your final invoice should there be any queries.
Video Editing
Most people have bookshelves full of old VHS videos and home videos stacked up on their shelves at home. Not only do they take up a lot of space, but old VHS Cassettes are much more vulnerable to magnetic interference and after approximately ten years of storage, it is possible that the data they contain becomes distorted and in worse cases, lost forever! However Hawkins Computing has a solution!
We can convert your old VHS Cassettes onto modern, digital DVD's along with movie style menu's and chapter selection. A three hour VHS can be transferred onto a single DVD with comparable levels of quality. Or, for those most precious memories, at maximum quality expect to get about one hour of footage per DVD disc.
Completed DVD's and your original media will be returned to you as soon as the work is completed via 1st class post or a courier of your choice. (Extra charges may apply)
Other video and data conversion are also available, for example audio cassette tape to CD or MP3, mini-dv tapes to digital formats, as well as DVD to DVD copying.
Don't want to include any technical editing with special effects, disc labels and media publications? A straight one-to-one copy from VHS to DVD could cost as little as £25 (exc. P&P)
Computer Backup / Restoration
Don't let a virus or hardware malfunction destroy all your cherished digital memories. We can guide you through all the steps to help maximise your computer's security and prevent harmful files or other users accessing your computer over the internet. And, if things do go wrong, we will provide you with all the help we can to recover your pc. We can also remove and install new hardware or software to your computer (such as the latest Operating Systems or processors).
Some of this work can be conducted remotely, however in some cases it may be necessary to have direct access to your computer; this may involve either us coming to you directly or for you to ship your computer to us. (Contact us for details)
Support
Alongside all the above services, we also offer full support during your order for no extra charge. Even if you're not an existing customer, contact us with your issue and we will provide you with all the support to try and resolve the problem. For more details, view the support page.
