We offer full technical support along side any service you purchase from us, however we also provide stand-alone support for both hardware and software to resolve any difficulties you may be receiving with the use of your computer.
As of April 2008: We are now offering remote support courtesy of LogMeIn.com
We will send you a unique, secure link to go to that will register your computer and allow us to control it remotely (recommended for broadband users only) to help you with any problems you may be experiencing (as long as its not to do with your internet connection!). And the service is completely secure and afterwards, we will make sure the software has been completely removed from your system so no one else can access it.
We offer our support at a range of rates including one off sessions for single tasks or problem solving, as well as subscription packages where we will connect at a time suitable for you and perform thorough clean-up operations (including removal of all temporary files, cache memory, unwanted bugs, viruses and Trojan software, as well as tweaks to get your computer running back how it used to when you first got it). Hardware
Installing new hardware? It is always important to thoroughly read any manual you are given when you purchase new hardware before installing it to ensure it is compatible with the current specification of your computer and that it is installed correctly.
We can provide you with simple step by step instructions that any computer novice or expert could understand. Alternatively, we can gather your computer's specifications and provide you with direct links to a vendor to supply the product you are interested in, along with researching reviews (both consumer and company) before you make your final purchase. For a nominal charge we can also purchase, fit and test any new hardware into your computer and provide you with a full demonstration of its features (where applicable).
Software
Installing new software, especially downloaded off of the internet can be a dangerous task, especially when you are not entirely certain of the file's source. We can download software off of the internet for you, conduct thorough virus scans (including spyware and adware) before providing you with a full report before you open the file. We can also research the best places to buy any software you require so that you pay the least amount possible whilst still receiving the same high quality product.
Operating Systems (OS)
Installing a new operating system (such as the new Microsoft Windows Vista) can be a long, daunting task that could take up hours of your computers processing power, and, if any errors occur, could result in the entire installation having to be repeated and even fatal loss of data on your computer's hard drives. We can support you through your installation of most versions of the Microsoft Windows operating systems as well as many Linux and Mac installations (including Yellow Dog 5 for the PS3).
When installing a new operating system, it may be necessary for the hard drive to be re-formatted (all it's data removed and overwritten) and so any data previously stored on it will be lost forever; we will provide you with all the support necessary to ensure this data is backed up correctly so you can restore it later.
Note: Because installing a new operating system can take a very long time, for the majority of which, it won't have an internet connection, we do not offer remote support for installing operation systems, however can either offer over the phone support, or come to your house and install it for you.
Anti Virus & Spy/Ad-ware
Don't let a virus destroy all your cherished digital memories from your computer! We can supply you with details on all the best software to maximise your computers proteciton. This includes the correct installation and set up of any antivirus programs, firewalls, or anti spy/ ad ware, pop up blocker and spam filters. We can also advise you onto how best reduce the chance of becoming a victim to online identify theft and best practices to staying safe online
